Sydney

This post is several days late but eh well

Day 1- Saturday 25th December

- Left the house around 7

- Drove for a while

- There was a sign for a place called Boho but someone had stuck on paper letters so it read Ho Ho Ho (I thought it was funny)

- Car got attacked by locusts (boy is it disgusting seeing locust guts spraying all over the windshield)

- We arrived at the apartment we were going to stay at and the place wasn’t too bad

(yes those little things are dead locusts)

Day 2 – Sunday 26th December

- Aunt told me I don’t act like a girl ( I don’t even know what that means)

- Got a bus (because the trains were screwed) to the city and met up with a few of our family friends who had also come for a holiday

- Saw the harbour bridge and Opera House, took photos

- Got a ferry to I forget what the place was called, it stopped at this shopping centre

- I impulsively bought sunnies without trying them on and now I regret it because I think I look like a douche when I wear them

- Had lunch then took a ferry back to the city

- At this point my feet were in agonising pain (never wear new flats when you have a lot of walking to do)

- Took another ferry that was going to Manly

- Akshay, Akash and I played sweet or sour by waving at people in boats

- Got to Manly and went to the beach, stayed there for a while (and laughed at the fobby men there, yeah I know that’s not very nice but they were funny)

- The three of us headed out of the beach to wash our feet on this water fountain thing which was fun, then we sat there and people watched

- After a while we took a ferry back, the view was stunning.

- It was all cloudy and it was getting dark and it looked amazing, shame I couldn’t get a good photo of it

- Akshay and I sat at the top front in between two Islander guys and a group if European guys, everything was fine until this big wave crashed against the ferry making us all wet, everyone started laughing

- This went on for a little while, the European guys started whoo-ing really loudly and everyone kept laughing, it was quite fun but we had to go inside because it started raining

- Got back to the city then took a bus back to the apartment

Day 3 –Monday 27th December

- Drove up to the Blue Mountains

Here is a picture I took of the mountains

Yes it was that foggy which was pretty cool because you couldn’t tell what was the sky and what was the ground; there was just a wall of greyish white

- We then decided to go to the Jenolan caves where we met up with the family friends

- There was a complete contrast of weather between the Blue Mountains and the caves

- We had lunch where I saw one of the biggest spiders I have ever seen

- Stood in line for a while to buy tickets to the caves

- We went inside the Lucas Caves and the place was pretty cool, the guide told us that they held concerts inside the cave because the sound travels well (how awesome would it be to go to a gig in a cave.

- After the cave tour we drove back to the apartment and I watched Criminal Minds

Day 4 – Tuesday 28th December

- Went to a Wildlife Park and I saw more koalas there than I had seen in my entire life

- There was a little 10 month old one and it was adorable (the guy handling the koala was pretty cute too and he had a chest tattoo)

- After the park we drove up to the Nan Tien Temple

- I’m not Buddhist but I love that place, it’s so pretty

- I went inside one of the rooms and this monk gave me paper and a pen so I could write Chinese characters (I sucked)

- After walking around and taking a few photos we left

- Went to a beach where we saw hang gliders and I decided to put that on my bucket list

- Left the beach and went to a Hindu temple

Day 5 – Wednesday 29th December

- We were supposed to go home this day but we didn’t much to my displeasure

- Headed to the city and got on the monorail

- Went the Sydney Tower where the line was massive but I didn’t mind because there were two cute European guys in front of us

- Finally got to the top, took photos and I people watched using the binoculars

- Went to China Town for lunch then to the aquarium

- Back to the apartment and finished with Criminal minds

Day 6 – Thursday 30th December

- Left the apartment and went to these people’s house (the lady in the house is my uncle’s wife’s cousin, she is married to this man who used to work with my dad in India and they have two kids a son and a daughter)

- We had breakfast at their house and after I finished I was in the kitchen and the guy started talking to me, turns out he’s a year older than me and does dentistry at Griffith so I asked him if he knew Paula and Petra and he said he had met them before and knew their cousin

- We talked a bit more about random stuff (I like it when someone I’ve just met is talkative because then I just have to sit there and listen instead of there being awkward silences)

- They had an adorable dog called Kelsey (sp?), which made me jealous because I always get jealous of people who have dogs

- Anyway, we left their house, leaving behind my aunty who was going to stay in Sydney for a few more days.

- I fell asleep while my dad was driving then woke up and saw a paddock of horses, I thought to myself how nice until I saw a couple of horses procreating, I decided to sleep again

- We went to Canberra and looked around the Parliament House (as you do because there is nothing else in Canberra), my dad started talking to these random people because he overheard them talking in Telugu (which is our language in case you didn’t know)

- After Canberra it was just more driving, in my case more sleeping

- We stopped in this random town for dinner (Maccas of course)

- Then around 1am finally arrived home

I guess that is pretty much what happened in Sydney, now some final things I would like to say

- I love seeing tourists everywhere, just walking along then bam you hear someone with a British accent

- The place is FULL of Indian people, everywhere you go there are Indians, our whole apartment was full of them, they are everywhere

- NSW registration plates are ugly, actually they all are except Victoria

- I had no idea the trains in Sydney were double decker

- I swear I had so many other things to say but I guess that is what happens when you write about it so late, you forget

Finally I would like to say thank you parents for choosing Melbourne over Sydney

Oh and the other pictures would not upload for some reason so just go on here for a few photos I took http://unexpectedplaces-.tumblr.com/

Playing God

Can't make my own decisions
or make any with precision
Well maybe you should tie me up
so I don't go where you don't want me

You say that I been changing,
that I'm not just simply aging
Yeah how could that be logical?
Just keep on cramming ideas down my throat

You don't have to believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger
I'll point you to the mirror

If God's the game that you're playing
Well we must get more acquainted
Because it has to be so lonely
To be the only one who's holy

It's just my humble opinion
But it's one that I believe in
You don't deserve a point of view
If the only thing you see is you

You don't have to believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger
I'll point you to the mirror

This is the last second chance
(I'll point you to the mirror)
I'm half as good as it gets
(I'll point you to the mirror)
I'm on both sides of the fence
(I'll point you to the mirror)
Without a hint of regret
I'll hold you to it

I know you don't believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger
I'll point you to the mirror

I know you won't believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger
I'll point you to the mirror

Edelweiss

I rewatched the Sound of Music today for the fifth or so time and I am so in love with a song that I did not pay much attention to when I was a kid

If there is anyone out there who has not seen this film, I shake my head at you.

Wake up call

I had this dream last night which started off with J, S and I in this big hotel sort of place and we were waiting for a concert. While we were walking around Joel and Benji Madden appeared out of nowhere and they decided to hang around with us, we took lots of photos together. I then saw Martin Johnson, J and S decided to hang around with him. I told Joel and Ben ji I was going to go explore the rest of the hotel and they said they would see me later. I walked around alone and came to this room, I stood and watched people go in and there were all these famous people but I don’t seem to remember any of them now except for Alan Rickman. I got really excited when I saw him go inside and I wished I could go inside the room but I couldn’t. I sadly turned around and started walking back when this man came up to me and asked if I wanted to go inside the room just for a minute, of course I said yes and I told him I wanted to meet Alan Rickman, he said he would take me to him, So off we went and next thing I know Alan Rickman is in front of me and I shake his hand and tell him his voice is wonderful to listen to, he laughed and said thank you and I had to leave because their dinner party was about to start. I headed off all happy when I see A, P and N I ask them where they are going and they said the dinner party. I was shocked and started feeling jealous, A told me she didn’t want to go and that she had to sit next to Alan Rickman. I got annoyed at them and left, I then went back to where the concert was going to take place and found J and S and sat down with them on the floor.

That is all I remember.

On Sunday I went to Jells Park for family friend birthday party and because it was a little kid’s birthday there were party bags and it was exciting because people like me got one too. They had temporary tattoos inside and the little kids went a little crazy with the tattoos. I put one on too.

Depraved

Yesterday I watched Voyage of the Dawn Treader and it did not impress me very much. This may be due to the fact that the story was changed from the book which makes me wish I had not read the book before I watched the film. Several things were changed and I felt like the movie just lacked in something. It felt too fast paced and I wasn’t too happy with some of the sets such as the sets used in the Lone Islands and also Magician’s Island. The filming technique was another thing I didn’t like, some scenes felt like I was watching a tv show and not a movie. Music was another aspect it lacked the tune used in the other two Narnia films (probably due to copyright). I don’t know the technical terms so I must be doing a bad job at describing how it looked. Caspian’s accent was British in this film while in Prince Caspian he had a sort of Spanish accent, I don’t understand why they decided to change it. I believe it all felt different to me due to a change in production from Disney to 20th Century Fox. I really do wish that I wouldn’t think about all these things when I watch a movie but I can’t help it.

It wasn’t bad though, I think if I hadn’t read the book I would have enjoyed the movie more. Some things were perfect, like Eustace and Reepicheep, and there were several good scenes. Although the ending was changed, the ending used in the film was good in my opinion and it did make me a little teary (oh I know I get teary at anything but still). I say just give me some time and the movie will grow on me, I wasn’t in love with Prince Caspian when I first watched it but then it grew on me.

I read reviews about it and it has some pretty good ones, on imdb it’s rated the highest out of the three Narnia films and everyone seems to agree. I must just be odd but I do wish they kept to the original storyline.

Is it weird that I was shipping Caspian and Edmund? (Yes I think so)

On an entirely different topic I finished reading Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie and oh boy it’s wonderful! She really was amazing I can’t wait to read more of her books. Do check it out if you like mystery novels. I just found out there are Agatha Christie computer games and it looks like they’re made by the same people that make the Nancy Drew games. How exciting!
