Only a few hours left till my three week vacation is over.
These holidays were pretty amazing, I got to see my friends a lot and went to a bloody amazing concert so it really does suck that I have to go back to uni and try get back to this life.
Great I totally forgot what this post was going to be about...oh well.
I still can’t stop thinking about the concert and how amazing it was, I feel all happy when I remember it but then sad because it’s over and the rest of the year is going to be awfully dull.
Yesterday I saw this blog which Jenny showed me, it had this girl talking about her BLG experience in Aus and how she went to three of their concerts and got meet and greet tickets to all of them and I thought wowzer she’s dedicated/ has money.
So Jenny and I talked more and it got me thinking; now I want to be a groupie.
Minus the sex.
Ok groupie may not be the best word for it but you know...go to lots of concerts and follow the band around in a non creepy way.
Ok you’re laughing at me now or thinking wtf so I’ll stop.
I thought I’d post a few videos from Thursday
I melt a little every time I watch this
Oh my why do I find this so hot
BLG opening (Love Drunk & Heels Over Head)
(found this on youtube)
Ok this post is kind of random so I’ll add more things
I want to write this post without sounding like I complete fan girl,
somehow I think I will fail miserably.
Susan, Jenny, Bonita, Tracy and I made our way towards The Hi Fi around 5:30pm on Thursday.
The line wasn’t very large which pleased me.
We had two hours to wait until the doors open so S, J and I wandered off to find the back entrance to the venue which was a failed attempt, then set off to buy J a slurpee and lastly to buy a bottle of water for myself.
At 7:30 we finally got let in so we went straight to the merch table where I got my Lovesick Electric t-shirt. Then we put our bags away and lined up eagerly
waiting for the show to begin.
Here’s us with our glowsticks
Aren’t we cool dorks
Before shot
Sound check began for the first band and a single drum note was played which burst my eardrums. Jenny asked me if the music was going to be that loud,
I told her no but immediately after I said this, the band started playing
and it really was that loud.
Heroes For Hire was the first band
I think I would have enjoyed their music more if it wasn’t so loud but I still bopped around to the songs.
They sang Teenage Dirtbag which was good and the lead singer was funny.
Audience member: ‘’Get a haircut!’’
Lead Singer: ‘’I will after I fuck your mum!’’
I felt sorry for them because they were the band that no one knew.
There was a break and next thing I know Ian walks onto the stage which resulted in Jenny and I screaming then later feeling awkward.
Hot Chelle Rae came on to do their sound check and set up.
I yelled out ‘’I love you RK!’’…later feeling like a douche
as I received looks from the people around me
but it did make the band members smile so score!
I was quite amazed at how calm the audience were...I spoke too soon.
At this moment Boys Like Girls came down the stairs and everyone went crazy!
I was being pushed around and this didn’t stop until they were out of sight.
HCR kicked it off by playing Say.
From my position I couldn’t see Jamie clearly which was sad and Ian was on the other side of the stage so I didn’t see too much of him either.
We were very close to Nash and RK though.
May I just add that Nash looked oddly attractive...I don’t know if it was his hair swishing about or the way he played that guitar of his.
Let’s say it was both.
(He was hotter in person)
RK introduced the band members and I found it quite adorable when he said
‘’My little brother Jamie on drums.’’
Yeah I know I’m odd
I managed to capture
the whole of Bleed and the quality isn’t too bad.
During a song RK walked down near the crowd which was quite amazing.
I got to take my favourite photo of the night.
Sexy isn’t he
RK rolled up his sleeve which made a guy go
‘’Take your clothes off!’’
RK: Did a guy just say that?
Hehe how cute...anyways
It was quite upsetting because not enough people were getting into the songs but oh well if I looked like a fool yelling out the lyrics I don’t care.
IL2D was played and I thought maybe this song will get people high...no.
They concluded with Nothing Left To Hide and that was all for HCR =[
The guys stayed on stage to pack up their gear and once again sound check occurred.
This sound check took the longest time but then there they were.
BLG came out and Martin (lead singer)
talked and cursed a lot
(I now understand the difference between underage and overage concerts)
They began with Love Drunk and now it finally felt like a mosh pit.
I was pushed around, had people elbowing me
and stepping on my feet but it was awesome!
They sang a few more songs and things in the pit were still crazy.
Martin held her hand and sang to her
(Damn you that should have been me!)
We were on the side closest to Paul (guitar) and Martin so I didn’t really get photos of Brian (bass) or John (drums).
(Btw All the photos I took of BLG are on Bonita’s camera…so the ones on here are the ones Jenny took)
They sang Dance Hall Drug which made me very happy and seemed to make the rest of the crowd very happy too.
Guitar picks were constantly being thrown and Jenny was
lucky enough to find one of Paul’s picks!
Paul also threw a towel into the crowd which was very hectic because three or four girls were fighting for it and it caused Jenny’s glasses
to fall off but don’t worry they’re fine.
Martin would randomly stare at one person while singing
and keep his gaze on them for a little while.
This happened to me...Ok it could have been anyone around me
but it felt like he was looking at me =]
He told us that we could come up on stage if we wanted to; this caused the guy next to me to jump on me and sink his elbows into my shoulder...dude calm down!
Due to those goddamn security people only one person got to go on stage and he went and shook hands with John then went crowd surfing.
Since we couldn’t get on stage, Martin decided to come
to us by jumping into the crowd.
This was even crazier than before.
No I didn’t get to touch him then...curse my short arms.
They sang The Great Escape to finish off but we got a few bonus songs by Martin so we really finished off with Holiday.
Martin was funny, he gave off that weirdo vibe and he kept licking Paul’s guitar...
Oh and Paul was very adorable, why?
Cause he looked so happy and kept smiling at everyone aww =]
Plus his hair went wavy when he got sweaty.
I thought ‘Hey that’s like my hair.’’
Speaking of my hair...it went horrible.
Curse my excessive sweating.
After shot
Both bands were bloody amazing live but now
the show was over which was upsetting so we made our way towards the cloak room and got our bags.
Susan reminded me about my box...[oh dear not that thing]
We saw a small crowd of people taking photos with the members of HCR so we walked over and I took out the box and suddenly felt very nervous...yes I was shaking
Go on laugh at me.
RK had his back to us and I didn’t know how to get his attention.
M: RK...RK
He turned
M: This is for you
RK: Oh what’s this!?...is it a present for me?
M: ah yeah it’s for you and the other guys
He called over the other guys
RK: Look we’ve got a present
(I was dying at this point)
He opened it...looked through quickly
RK: Thank you so much
M: Hhhh
(Yes I couldn’t talk)
I then got pushed out of the way because people wanted photos so I walked over to Susan.
We turned and saw Jamie
S: Hi you’re Jamie right...I’m Susan
*Shakes hand*
They’re besties now =p
We both then got photos with him
Can I just say Susan and Jamie would make a cute awkward couple =p
It was time to try and get a photo with RK next and I did
RK: Oh no I think I was looking at the wrong camera
(Yes you were for one of the photos but I forgive you)
I wanted something signed next but what did I have...I know my shoes!
So I walked over to RK...again
M: Hi RK could your sign my shoes please
RK: Sure! I can do your shoe
(What else can you do ;) hehe)
We then got a group photo with RK
Oh look where his hand is!
It was time to get my other shoe signed
I went to Jamie and he signed it
I call these my Follese Chucks now =]
Got a quick photo with Nash and we made our way towards the exit.
Oh no Ian!
We stuck around a bit waiting to get a photo with him and he finally came but the security people were being tight so we were moving closer and closer to the door.
Got my photo with him and we walked through the door.
He came too and we stood there.
(What do I say?! What do I say?!)
M: You guys were awesome
Ian: Thanks it was a great show
Our last one in Australia
Getting a flight at 4 am tomorrow
M: Oh woah that sucks...
I hope you guys come back soon...
Ian: We hope so too, we might be coming back in a few months
M: That would be awesome...
I’m pretty sure he said more and I just stood there grinning like an idiot thinking
‘’OMFG IAN IS TALKING TO ME!’’
(I am such a social retard)
(Sorry J & S if you said something...I can’t remember)
Security made us leave, as we were about to go up RK and Nash came down so it was just the six of us there.
(hyperventilating now)
We said our good-byes and parted
Once we went outside Susan left.
Jenny and I made our way towards the town hall to get picked up.
While waiting I noticed a group of people walk past us and
one of the guys looked familiar.
M: Is that...na...wait OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG Jenny that guy!
It’s Martin!
(I don’t think she believed me)
We decided to follow them anyways, Jenny walked to the front
and pushed the crossing button.
What did I do?
Stood there and stared at him of course.
He gave us a smile and a little wave
Martin: I was just talking about how much I love you guys
(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I kept staring
(Yeah I was speechless…again)
J: Could we take a photo?
Random chick that was part of his posse: Want me to take it for you?
So Jenny was going to his right and bumped into him...he said sorry =]
He put his arms on our shoulders so I put mine around him and lordy, that leather jacket of his was pure bliss to touch.
Yes I understand I sound like creep now but I’m serious, it was so nice and soft!
His people then said they had to go so that was good-bye to Martin.
As we were leaving we saw a group of screaming girls running up to where he was.
I bet he was thinking damn if only
all girls were like those two I just took a photo with.
We don’t know what happened to him and the other girls as our view was gone, plus this is when our squealing fit happened.
Yes I think I squealed and jumped up and down and became shaky again.
So Jenny and I are now crushing on Martin
(Don’t worry RK I still love you)
What a lovely way to end the experience.
As I conclude this post I realise it’s not the same as us retelling the story in person as I have not included all the little details and things but who knows when I will actually get to see you people, until then this post will do.
