Wait

I’m too lazy to write a proper post on what I did the rest of the holidays so dot points will suffice.

-Watched Deathly Hallows part 2 with Jenny and Yen, midnight screening, dressed up but no photos

-Spent a lot of time at home watching movies

-Watched DH part 2 again with Sumo (Saw Sumo after 17 months)

-My favourite contestant on Masterchef got eliminated

-Watched more movies

-Jenny and Piyumi came over

- I read more slash fanfic

Yeah I didn’t get out much but it was still great

I looked at my list of things I was supposed to do in the holidays and I didn’t do a single thing on the list. Instead I watched 36 movies

Go me

Uni started and I have four days of uni this semester.

I made an acquaintance on Monday she’s in two of my classes and we were talking after class on Monday. Her boyfriend then came over so I felt awkward because I’m like that but it ended up not being awkward after a little while because he talks a lot and he’s weird and funny. We found out we all watch Supernatural so that was exciting.

This week has kind of sucked so far, I mean it hasn’t been bad or anything but it’s given me an idea of how the rest of the semester is going to be. I had gotten so used to getting 8 or more hours of sleep so adjusting to little sleep is going to be hard for me.

I hope my lab on Monday gets moved ahead so then I can actually make it to the Anberlin concert. I also really want to go to We The Kings/You Me At Six but I currently can’t afford it and the overage concert is the day after Anberlin at 8pm which sucks because I have uni the next day so I wouldn’t be allowed to go. The underage show is the day after overage and it starts earlier so I could possibly make it to that one but I don’t know.

Edit: I can now afford it but the whole transport issue is still there

Yeah this wasn’t a very entertaining post hopefully the next will be

Bollywood Queen

While doing my daily imdb browsing I came across a film called ‘Bollywood Queen’ so I decided to watch. I didn’t manage to find a download link or even a link to watch it online, then I saw that someone had put the movie on youtube but only the scenes James McAvoy was in so I watched it.

This is what I got from the story by only watching McAvoy’s scenes

(Excuse my crappy screen caps)

Edit: I tried to make this into a short summary but I basically say almost everything I saw

Jay (Mcavoy) saves an Indian girl from a falling pole, the two lock eyes and fall in love

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(Yes they are floating)

He does a bit of stalking and finds out where she works, the two flirt and she gives him her phone number

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Gina (the girl) sings a horrible song in Hindi and thinks about Jay while doing so

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The two meet and walk through London but Gina has to leave

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Jay gets told off by his racist brother for giving Gina’s phone back

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Jay and Gina go on their first date (to watch an Indian movie (WHYYYY))

While making out , The people on the screen jump out and start dancing in the theatre

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It’s just Jay’s imagination

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Random people start dancing in the streets while Jay sings about a Bollywood show

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Gina joins in too (but in Hindi), Jay joins in too

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(her face haha)

Oh no Gina sees her brothers so she leaves poor Jay alone

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(something must have happened then but since it didn’t involve McAvoy I have no idea)

The two spend time in the city (this scene is actually pretty cute)

Then decide to go to a night club (James McAvoy’s dancing haha)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(Yes he’s wearing a Hawaiian shirt)

But oh no Gina’s brothers are there and take Gina away

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Jay thinks about Gina

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And imagines her singing Dedicated to the one I love

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is his reaction

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I got a bit lost at this point, Jay his brother and some other guy break into a factory which ends up being Gina’s family business, Jay wants out and leaves. Don’t really get it. Just know that Gina’s brothers are doing something dodgy.

Something must have happened because Jay’s brother is in hospital with a stab wound in his arm. Jay’s dad turns up, Jay gets annoyed and leaves

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Picks up Gina and they both drive off to the country side

Gina imagines singing a (hilarious) song

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(yes he is dressed like a cowboy holding a sitar)

They get a room in a cottage

Jay thinks he’s going to get lucky

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Gina rejects him and makes him sleep on the floor

They go on a picnic and another song

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(The classic song where the girl wears a sari that's blowing around in the wind)

Gina wants to go back; first Jay takes her to his house.

Father and brother approve of her

They go to Gina’s cousins wedding and Gina sings

Jay after she’s done (he’s so precious)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Jay meets Gina’s parents; the dad thanks him for bringing her back but tells him to leave

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Gina gets annoyed and leaves with Jay, dad doesn’t stop her.

They both decide to go to France

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(how real does the view look)

So this movie was unbelievably awful and made me cringe several times but it also made me laugh quite a lot (James McAvoy must have been really desperate for money).Although it was a bad movie I still found it entertaining and I really want to watch the full movie. I found a few copies to buy online, wish I had a credit card and money at times like this, oh well one day. If you ever feel like watching a really bad movie which will make you laugh I recommend Bollywood Queen.

Time-Bomb

Recap of what I’ve been up to.

Saturday

Went to a family friends place and ate nachos that tasted like pizza (they were so good!)

Sunday

Went to the city with Priyanka and Francois

Watched Bridesmaids (5.5 out of 10)

Had Bimbo’s pizza for lunch

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Monday

Stayed home and watched a movie

Went to the gym and saw someone who used to go to Macrob, avoided eye contact but she found me and stood next to me (it was good seeing her and all but I prefer doing Zumba in a room full of strangers, it’s awkward when there are people you know)

Tuesday

Stayed home and watched a movie

Wednesday

Stayed home and watched a movie

Thursday

Stayed home and watched a movie

Drove to Springvale library and got beeped at by four cars

Didn’t find any good movies but I did find a Nancy Drew game which I hadn’t played before

Friday

Jenny came over and we were talking and I was getting movies off her

Then Scooby went outside and came back covered in dirt so I had to wash him

We watched two movies then Jenny left

I watched another movie

It was Limitless, pretty good movie. I like how it was filmed

And dear god Bradley Cooper’s eyes

Saturday

Cleaned

Watched a bit of Pirates of the Caribbean and helped my dad cook

Watched parts of a movie called Bollywood Queen

This movie is so special it’s going to get a whole post dedicated to it (soon)

Sunday

Made meatballs (well my mum made them I just rolled them up into balls)

We catered for a party so I went to help out

Monday

Jenny and Thanh came over

We watched Penelope

I really liked it, one of those feel good movies and I fangirled silently when I saw Burn Gorman in the movie. Also James Mcavoy was adorable and askaasjbcdj that kiss at the end!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We laughed especially hard at this one line said by a kid

“It’s not the power of the curse, it’s the power you give the curse”

We then had a jam session, Thanh on keyboard, Jenny on guitar and I was on the recorder

Other things

The Maine released a music video for their song “Listen To Your Heart” and it is made up of footage from their tours

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Oh look it’s Jenny, me and Susan’s head. Yeah you can’t see our faces but it’s still cool

I read Charles/Erik fanfic (yes the slash kind) (go ahead and judge me) and it made me laugh but there was one really good one, most of the others I would read a few lines then get too grossed out.

Tomorrow well Wednesday morning I am going to see Deathly Hallows Part 2 and I’m so bloody excited but also sad. I’ve been watching Harry Potter related things and they all make me so sad.

I think that’s all for now

X-Men: First Class

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I don’t like this poster because it’s missing Banshee and Riptide

I wanted to write this as a sort of movie review but I didn’t really know how to start it so it’s just going to be what I liked and didn’t like about the movie. I’m pretty sure my dislikes list will end up being bigger than my likes (they almost always are) but that’s because it’s easier to point out the negatives. No Spoilers

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Things I didn’t like

- I don’t think there was enough character development, I wanted to get to know a bit more about the mutants

- Certain things were too rushed and seemed to sum up too well at the ending

- There wasn’t enough screen time for Charles Xavier, yes I know he was in it quite a bit but the whole film seemed to focus more on Erik/Magneto. I personally find Xavier's character more interesting

- I still have questions about certain things that happened, I don’t understand how it happened or why they didn’t do certain things

- This isn’t necessarily something I didn’t like, more something I found strange. I don’t know if it was just me but Magento’s accent seemed to change into an Irish accent at the end of the film.

- I don’t think I liked Jennifer Lawrence as Raven/Mystique

- The character Angel Salvador I don't really know why. Her mutant name was supposed to be Tempest because the mutant Angel is actually a male mutant who has angel wings so the name was fitting. I don't know why she was called Tempest in the comics, she should have been called Dragonfly or something

- The romantic pairing were completely off and seemed to come out of nowhere

- My ship didn’t work out when they clearly had the most chemistry

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Things I liked

- The general plot of the film

- Charles Xavier’s personality

- The “Between rage and serenity” scene but this scene totally should have ended with a kiss

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

- James McAvoy

- Michael Fassbender

- Nicholas Hoult in glasses

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

- The scenes when Charles and Erik are recruiting

--The training scenes

- Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Romijn cameos

- Michael Fassbender’s pants

- All the Charles/Erik scenes

- Michael Fassbender in a wetsuit

- The sad scene at the end (So damn close to crying but I controlled myself)

- Everything else in the movie

Yes there were a few flaws but overall I think it was a great movie. I was reading imdb boards about it and people keep saying to consider this as a reboot instead of a prequel and that it’s been changed from the comics. I’ve been reading a bit about the comic book characters and it’s really interesting, the films have changed the characters so much but this always happens like with the Spiderman films. I hope they make a sequel to X-Men First Class. I rate it an 8 out of 10. I recommend people to watch it, I’m currently still obsessing over it.

No banshee or Riptide again
